TOGETHERJOYFULLY is the title of a new album of unaccompanied Psalm singing recently released by Beracah Music. The Psalms and musical settingswere arranged by the praise group at Dingwall Free Church where the recording was also made. The “Psalms from Ross-shire” project was directed by Rev Donnie MacSween minister of Kiltearn Parish Church in Evanton.
He chose the title for the album from the supplementary version of Psalm 98 (included on the album) as these words capture well the spirit of joyful worship which united those who participated in the recording. Precentors and congregation were drawn together from 27 churches throughout Ross-shire representing all the main Christian denominations. The recording has been produced and mastered to ensure that the words of each Psalm may be heard clearly. The album has 18 tracks of traditional and supplementary Psalms including 4 in Gaelic. Commenting on his part in the project, Donnie MacSween said, “I have had it on my heart for some time to make an album of unaccompanied Psalm singing from Ross-shire. It is a beautiful form of worship which is melodious and distinctive and well worth preserving. I found making this album to be a
real blessing and genuine pleasure and I pray that all who hear it will also be greatly blessed.”
