Scotland Dancing Again
[IVP012] - 6 in Stock
To have 'Scotland ... Dancing Again' was the main aim of those who formed the Scottish Country Dance Society in the early 1920s. Jean Callander Milligan LL.D. of Glasgow and Ysobel Stewart of Fasnacloich founded the Society in Glasgow on 26 November 1923. Their aim was - to have the people of Scotland dancing again, especially enjoying their traditional Scottish country dances.
Little did they realise that their project would have such an impact on dancing beyond the boundaries of Scotland. Scottish country dancing is now a worldwide pastime and this is due largely to the work of The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.
This video tells the story of the Society - through 27 of its dances. It is illustrated with extracts from the Society's Archive. Included with the video is a booklet containing the text of the narration, written and presented by Dr. Alastair MacFadyen. (Pal)
